10 Social Media Tips and Tactics to engage your audience

1. Twitter followers earned are much sweeter than Twitter followers bought. Anyone can go out and buy a click, but engaging in an actual conversation is much more fulfilling and leads to a loyal following. Buying your following could lead to the dreaded un-follow when they find out your content and tweets are not up to their standards.

2. Write regularly and consistently, people return to your site because your information is fresh, new and exciting.

3. If your readers took the time to read the article you spent so much time writing, they may want to share it as well, make it easy, and always include the Tweet and Facebook Like buttons on your work.

4. Write catchy headlines that grab people’s attention quickly. Make sure they are keyword rich for search engines.

5. Provide subscription buttons such as: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google + so readers can easily follow you and your work.

6. When tweeting your 140 character message, include # tags to deliver it to the group of individuals you want to see the information. Example #leadership or #seo

7. As your following continues to grow on the different social media outlets, be sure to highlight this feat on your company blog, or monthly newsletter. People like being recognized for their efforts and if you show your appreciation to them, you are more likely to continue growing.

8. Run polls using the Facebook Question Feature. Engage and involve your audience for optimal feedback

9. Create a contest or competition on Facebook or Twitter for your followers.

10. Respond, Respond, Respond!! Always make an effort to reply to mentions on twitter or comments posted by fans on Facebook. Show you are engaged and appreciate that they are taking the time read what you have to say.

Celebrate the Independence of America

On July 4th 1776, America claimed its independence from Britain and the Declaration of Independence was borne. It is a day where Americans gather to celebrate with picnics, parades and a night full of lively music and colorful fireworks. It is one more reason to fly our American Flag with honor and pride. The below short poem is by an unknown author, but reminds all of us that there is reason to celebrate!

227 years ago…on July 4th, 1776
This great nation, the United States of America,
In a struggle for what was right and free,
Was proudly born…
May we celebrate that precious freedom
For which our forbears fought so bravely…
The freedom that is inherent
In the Stars and Stripes, our revered flag…
Celebrate Freedom
This Fourth of July!

Fasturtle® wishes to extend to everyone a happy and safe 4th of July, and if you happen to be in Arizona this year, we suggest that your 4th is best celebrated by the pool with a cool drink and great friends.

We have added our First Fleet Car to the Fasturtle® Family!

Fasturtle® is excited to announce the arrival of our first fleet car! After several weeks of failed design negotiations with the wrap company, we decided to take on the design portion of the project ourselves. After all, we are a design company and we wanted to showcase what our own people can do while speeding around town!

Even though this was her first ever car wrap design, Amanda prepared an excellent design and really showcased her capabilities (while making us look good too). From website design to a full sized Prius design, Amanda has proven to be one of Fasturtle®’s most dedicated employees, and we are honored to have such talent working with us.

We love feedback! Post a message below, send us an email or give us a call – we would love to hear what you think about the car and we’ll pass that on to Amanda. We know she would enjoy hearing about how her creativity and ingenuity inspires you.

P.S.

If you see our car, tweet or Facebook us about it and let us know what you think!

Legendary Customer Service

First and foremost, Fasturtle® wishes to express our deepest sympathy to all of those families whom have had to leave their homes in the last few days due to the Wallow Fire. We would also like to Thank the Fire Fighters out there risking their lives to battle this fire protecting Arizona’s towns and forests.

On a lighter note, Fasturtle® is venturing down a new path of creating and employing “Legendary Customer Service” and we thought what better way to find out how to do this, than to ask our clients.

We are positive everyone knows the story of the Nordstrom Tire return, where a customer had wanted to return a set of tires. Nordstrom is a high-end clothing store and tires are not a product they sell. However, the clerk accepted the tires and refunded the money to the customer, ensuring that the client was satisfied and pleased enough to return to the store. In turn, this generated not only, headline news for “Legendary Customer Service” but, also spread like a wild fire for word of mouth campaigns and the retention of long term loyal customers.

Fasturtle® would like to duplicate something extraordinary and legendary for our clients, so we are interested in what your idea of Legendary Customer Service is. Please send us a message and let us know what your idea of extraordinary and legendary customer service would be.

Serving you, even when the power is out!!

Despite an hour and a half power outage that occurred on Thursday the Fasturtle® team fought through using remote and battery operated devices! Between the iPads and the laptops, we were never in the dark or off schedule on client projects.

Finally, our twitter contest is thriving, and we have gained 281 new followers in the last three weeks. Our turtles are all over the east coast, now if we could just hit up the North West we may make it to all 50 states this summer. The goal for this contest is to remain active & up to date on social media trends as well as build our following with legitimate followers whom are interested in Fasturtle®. The contest has struck up great conversations about different city’s including one follower @davisesq212’s New York life style. Should Fasturtle® ever have the opportunity to visit New York, @daviseq212 has offered to be our guide and answer any questions we have. We appreciate our loyal followers!!

The Essence of Memorial Day

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is celebrated the last Monday of every May to honor fallen soldiers who have given their lives to defend our American Freedoms.

Memorial Day was first proclaimed on May 5th 1868 by General Logan where flowers were placed on the graves of the Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. In 1915, Moina Michael began wearing the red poppies to honor those who have died in war responding with a poem that we feel says it all.

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.

Many have forgotten what the day truly means and have become distracted by the three day weekend, leaving many grave sites neglected and ignored. To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the National Moment of Remembrances Resolution was passed December 2000, which asks that, at 3:00pm local time, all Americans voluntarily observe a moment of respect and silence.

Fasturtle® honors, respects and holds a moment of silence for our fallen heroes.

Thank you for everything you have done and the freedom we enjoy today.

Are you reaching your Customers on Twitter?

There are several reasons why a potential customer won’t follow you on twitter. These little mistakes could be effecting your customer relationships and in turn your profits as a small business.

If you are out there tweeting away, how do you want to be seen and recognized? Posting with an incomplete profile will keep potential customers from wanting to follow you because clients need to be able to recognize who you are and the services you can provide for them. Make sure the profile page is accurate, up-to-date and informative. Twitter followers have a tendency to look for their favorite tweeters by the picture avatar. If you are using a company logo, ensure that it is the right size and that the entire logo fits in the thumbnail.

Beware of becoming a spammer. Your following & customer potential will decrease if you have a supper high number of tweets, but you’re not following other tweeters. Give your followers a reason to check back and tweet regularly with new information and links directing your customer to articles you find interesting and useful. The point of a tweet is to grab attention so be creative and original. Spam tweeting is annoying and will cause your followers to un-follow your account. Just like any other social media site Twitter is interactive, engage with your clients, ask questions and make comments in return. It’s ok to mention your business, products and services but be mindful not to use your twitter account to only promote yourself; you need to promote the work of others as well.

Following these simple guidelines will keep your twitter account looking pristine and with an active, updated account your following and customer communications will gradually increase.
